Crosscurrents (1999) |

Premiere: Boston College, Boston, MA, May 1998; 6 minutes
Music: Original Score by Grayson Hugh
Dancer: Isadora Wolfe
A piece created on solo dancer, Isadora Wolfe. The piece reflects a period where one is in the midst of decisions and is affected by two conflicting directional pressures. Which way to go? Three-quarters of the way through the piece, the energy points inward and then up, causing serenity and a chance, then, to know what is the right move. I was inspired by the musical score created especially for the idea (composed by Grayson Hugh), and by dancer Isadora's strong, centered articulation of both the modern and ballet techniques, and, with her strength as a very gifted performer.
BOSTON HERALD: "This well-made, inspired piece was danced with passion by Isadora Wolfe."
